Joelle Donofrio-Odmann, DO, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She attended University of California Davis for undergraduate studies and medical school at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine- California. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California, her Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, and her Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fellowship at University of California San Diego. She is the immediate past chair of the California EMS for Children Technical Advisory Committee, the deputy chief medical officer for San Diego Fire-Rescue, the EMS Medical Director for Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego, and works clinically in the Emergency Department at Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego. Dr. Donofrio-Odmann has been involved with San Diego Fire-Rescues paramedic school as an instructor and as their medical director for many years. She has worked closely with her amazing Program Director, Captain Chialtas, to optimize both pediatric and obstetrical training. Dr. Donofrio-Odmann is an active member of the pediatric subcommittee of the NAEMSP and co-hosts “The Pediatric EMS Podcast”. She has a vested interest in the prehospital care of mothers and children.
